EMU service from Andul (SER) - Dumdum/ Sealdah (ER
I earnestly request Sri Suresh Prabhu, Hon'ble Rail Minister to start EMU service from Andul (SER) to Dumdum or Sealdah(ER) through Bankra Nayabaz - Rajchandrapur - Bally halt - Dakshineswar. It would reduce the stress upon Howrah Station, suffering from bottleneckness. It would be helpful for lakhs of passengers travelling between Andul (SER Howrah suburb) to Howrah - Barddhaman Chord line, Howrah - Bandel Main line and Sealdah - Naihati Main line and other adjacent routes.
Andul to Dumdum may be covered in just 25 - 30 minutes by this service whereas it now takes more than 2 hours - by train - bus - train. more

So I did not propose the route for my own benefit. I believe Local Circle is not a proper platform for those people who cannot look beyond their own benefit. Very good idea. It will be a great help to commuter and also decongest Howrah Station and road traffic. more

The line linking DumDum to Andul is fit for running Puri Duronto Express and some other passenger trains.If so why can a EMU service not be run. Any service that by-passes Howrah sealdah will cut journey time. After all EMUS are running from Naihati/Ranaghat to BBD Bag, Barasat side to BBDBAG benefitting people, so why cannot a Pansure/Mechada/Uluberia originating train run to Dum Dum and on to Ranaghat/Barasat. Actually there is no will on the part of Eastern and South Eastern Railway to consider helping passengers in suburbs of Howrah/medinipur districts to travel seamlessly to North 24 GS /nadia District by passing Kolkata. The suggestion deserves merit.I suggest address GMs of ER and SER and post in MRs tweeter accounts etc to escalate. more

I believe lot of people have to go everyday to Dumdum, Barrackpur, Barasat , Kalyani area from Andul & nearby areas and vice versa. If a two hours journey can be reduced to 30 minutes and more over pressure on Howrah to Sealdah Area can be lessened to some extent the proposal is worth and should be considered by the Railways. Every odd place in our state is also a place having every right to have convenience for its people and especially when it also help in easing traffic density in Kolkata. more
