eCommerce packaging recycling.
I saw an article via the localcircles economic times only where there was conversation and report about recycling of ecommerce packagings.

Nothing seems to have been done by the Govt. All these myntra jabongs, flipkart, amazoon, snapdeal send a ton of plastic packaging which I am sure generates bad fumes when burnt by garbage pickers.
My question is why has the Govt not written to all eCommerce guys to begin this recycling program where they offer 50 rs or 100 rs coupon to return a reusable plastic envelope and a cardboard box.
Urban development ministry and ministry of commerce should take lead on this. more

This is a very good suggestion as people will start returning the parcels instead of throwing them in the bin. That way the parcels can be recycled and both the sender and the receiver can benefit. The same should be done with used mobile phones. We should have a box in several places where we can throw old mobile phones and batteries, to avoid environmental pollution. more

I have seen on streets of US , poor segregate Plastic from garbage pocket as they get payment for such deposits . It is pervading in India but the system prevailing in India is very dirty .We need to improve Municipal waste collection system .ie. Kitchen waste in green pocket to be Utilised for compost , sid waste for power generation in black pocket & plastics in red for recycling . Thus three different colour waste packets to made available in the market at lowest price . Compost producing company can collect from door to door for Agro compost marketing to encourage organic vegetable , fruits , grains etc. Similarly solid waste for earth filling road constructions / power generation . The Red garbage for recycling companies. This needs to be created from corporate with strict guidelines & punishable clauses. How returning the packing materials to the suppliers could be practical? Let us talk on the issues which are practical and convenient to comply with. Further, burning of the packing materials or anything else in open is strictly prohibited and being considered as cognizable offence. This is indian characteristic to expect everything to be done either by the government or any other entity. We must come out of such mentalities if we really want India becoming a world standard nation in all respects. more

The norms for recycling are not so effective and are costly also but,it has already started and i know few people who are involved in designing and producing the re-usable packing cases. I appreciate and practice at my level to reuse the plastic carry bags for vegetables and grocery.We all can do our bit and make a big difference more

It is not practical. Suppose you sell handicrafts online - how will you get back the packing material you used to ship your package back from the customer to you? Will you pay the customer to send the packing material back by courier to you more
