Some time back i saw the above LC survey in media and didnt believe it fully as to how e20
Petrol can cause issues with fuel valves, fuel tank and engine but earlier this week a friend’s vehicle went down.

E20 is damaging fuel valves from the inside and this will lead to many people’s vehicles dying earlier than planned leading them to buy new vehicles. We as citizens must stand up against this forced migration to E20. All we need is govt to give choice of petrol type to people. more

it is surprising that SIAM and ARAI and vehicle manufacturers are silent and it is their designed vehicles so they need to either design the fuel system to take the e20 fuel and do testing for components life .At least a notification from SIAM if it comes then it will be reassurance to the people buying the vehicles more
This can be a serious issue. Mr Gadkari-the Minister involved-must investigate andapply corrections at the earliest. more
It is unfortunate that Scientific - technical decisions are taken in closed chamber without having open healthy data based efficacy & safety criteria discussions. I feel that it is high time that such issues must be raised on top level. more
Sometime around two decades ago, when the government started adding ethanol to petrol, they started calling the blend "motor spirit". Today, with 20% ethanol added, they call it petrol. What is irksome is the clandestine way such changes have been brought in without allowing time to adapt and causing serious vehicle issues to a majority of car owners. A responsible government should not be taking oppressive decisions without having thought of the impact on a large number of vehicle owners. The role of a government is not to act like a commercial business. It is meant to be the protector and guardian of the welfare of the state and its people. Erosion of personal assets due to a wayward decision is unacceptable. The least they could have done is to have a road map for change, making different fuel blends available during the phased transition period so that people have a choice. more
I also agree and also surprised how government can change the quality of petrol without any information to the users. more
