E20 petrol causing car maintenance issues?
So saw the LocalCircles e20 fuel report on NDTV today. It says 28% car owners with 2022 or prior car with them are having issues this year as they use e20 petrol.

This is unacceptable policy making and must be taken up. If we suffer a breakdown of a 20 lakh car and 5 lakh maintenance expenses, will the road or petroleum ministry reimburse? Let them answer. more

I would like to post that - How many customers know if they are being filled with E20 petrol without their knowledge ? It has happened with me. I have Maruti Breeza car of Feb 2021 Model. I used to fill Petrol from HP petrol pump which is company owned and operated by HPCL located at Sion Mumbai 400022. About a year back, when i visited petrol pump, i saw the hangouts stating E20 petrol. Neither the man dispensing petrol nor the Manager of that petrol pump was aware if this E20 petrol is suitable for cars of 2021 model. I have written email to Maruti and also to HPCL, no reply from Maruti ; HPCL did replied but replies were not clear & running around the bush with no clear message - Yes or No. I stopped buying from this petrol pump. Few weeks I happened to pass walking from that petrol pump and noticed that E20 Tags hanging have been removed. With curiosity I asked the man serving there, if the petrol being sold is normal or E20. I was astonished to learn that petrol being sold was E20 without any tags notification. Now just imagine if any vehicle owner comes and finds no E20 Tag, he will be under general impression that normal petrol is being sold ; but eventually he is getting E20 petrol which will be detrimental to his vehicles prior to 2023. Is it not biggest blunder being done by these Govt owned PSU's selling petrol without notice of customers that it is E20 petrol? I believe it should be mandatory to have E20 Tags notification at all dispensing units and let it be customers choice to buy or not? Thanks & Rgds Rajiv Shah 9820046465 more

Agree. Our existing cars are not defined for such fuel variations. Knocking of car at slow speed has become quite comman. The fuel efficiency has reduced from 13 Kmph to 9.0 Kmph. Although it is beneficial to Agro providers (Very few and specific and NOT the entire Agri community), the Cost benefit may also be passed on to the Consumers. more

JUST want to inform the users that United Kingdom is blending 20 pc etha since last many years. upto 20 percent no issue in engine. above yes more

This is a technical subject and either SIAM/ARAI or car manufactureres should come out with a dossier on the subject so as to public knowledge and looks like unless supreme court is involved and gives direction nothing will come out clearly more

The government claims that ethanol blending is beneficial for farmers and environment. However, it totally ignored the lower and middle class interest having two wheelers and four wheelers. It is going to cost dearly to ruling party in next elections. Opposition parties are keeping mum on the issue right now, only to encash it at the time of next elections more
