DTH CHARGES AS PER TRAI

TRAI CHAIRMAN IS DECLARING IN AN INTERVIEW ON TV THAT THIS SYSTEM OF PAY AS YOU SEE IS FOR PUBLIC BENIFITT. CAN HE PROVE IT. INDIVIDUALS ARE BEING FORCED TO PAY MIN 150 EXTRA OF EARLIER BILLAS AS NCF CHARGES . TRAI CHAIRMAN IS PUTTING MIRCHI IN THE EYES OF PUBLIC IN THE NAME OF BENIFITT. I AM FORCED TO PAY 362 IN LIEU OF 219 EARLIER. THERE ARE APP 50 CRORES DTH CONNECTIONS. WITH 150 EACH, THE LOSS AMOUNT TO CONSUMERS/GAIN TO DTH COMPANIES COMES TO 750 CRORES PER MONTH.ACTUALLY TRAI AND DTH HAS JOINED HANDS WITH BIG MONEY EXCHANGED. IT IS A SCAM TO GIVE BENIFIT TO DTH COMPANIES AT THE COST OF PUBLIC. WHY THE TRAI CHAIRMAN NOT BE SUED IN CONSUMER COURT FOR THIS LOSS TO PUBLIC .

THERE CAN BE MIN CHARGES OF 130+GST=153 FOR FREE CHANNELS AND PAID CHANNELS COSTING UP TO 153. IF THE COST OF PAID CHANNELS IS MORE THAN 153 SAY 198 THAN CHARGES ARE TO BE ONLY 198 NOT 198+153=351 BEING CHARGED BY COMPANIES UNDER THE COVER OF NOTIFICATION BY TRAI more

Latest DTH is yet another scam that opens up gross irregularity in regulatory mechanism being handled by highly inefficient people drawing salary at cost of Exchequer. Now paying 400 Rs you just looking at most popular movie, entertainment, news, business channels drawing blank screens on search, this happened without seeking public opinion by TRAI who had fixed base rate + 18% taxes, while the DTH rates had always included GST. So 18% GST load is extra burden. Problem is its another petrol type tax type earning ( Petrol price must charge rate of Rs 75, no matter if low crude price of $40) by government forcing public to pay more now and ignoring all sensible prioritizing. Its anti public policy. More over the mandatory Rs 153 (Base+GST) of DD & states channels is forcing upside on the bills and very draconian act , making mockery of "freedom to chose channel" advocated by TRAI in price reform. TRAI also violates the price structure by increasing bills from earlier setup up. TRAI has not given any basis to why change system that's already comfortable to consumers with costly pricing. It is clear tha TRAI has actually benefited the DTH & cable operators at cost of consumers. more
As per the latest guidelines issued by TRAI as reproduced below
- If a consumer has subscribed for a long term plan from the DTH operator, he/she will continue to enjoy all the services and benefits till that plan is expired. Post that, the new plans will come into effect. However, the base pack has to be decided before January 31.
--- A subscriber can request for disconnection at least 15 days in advance to the DTH operator. The DTH operator shall disconnect the connection and refund the deposit within 7 days subject to fulfilment of terms and
conditions of services.
However Airtel Digital Tv does not wish to commit to it & when the
matter was taken it was advised matter was taken with TRAI , it was advised to contact TRAI General Awareness Helpline at 0120-6898689 , who confirmed the latest guideline as above issued by TRAI & in case
AIRTEL still does not agree to complain at 'das@trai.gov.in'
But so far inspite of several reminders , TRAI has not responded
in the matter . Logically also before issue of revised New Guidelines needed for persons who were being charged for even those channels which they never wanted TRAI issued these Guidelines but persons already having entered into long term plan with service provider , if not complaining can /should continue with the long term plan
So it should be for TRAI to deal with AIRTEL suitably more
THIS SCAM BE INFORMED TO OPP PARTIES SO THAT THIS CASE CAN BE RAISED IN PUBLIC POLITICALLY more
Opposition parties are not interested in any new issues as they are blowing "Rafel " every day thinking that this issue alone will defeat BJP. Bofors did similar set back to Rajiv Gandhi who had 402 MP's before 1989 elections which came down to 191 on "Bofors" issue. Opposition feels that taking up any other issue will dilute emphasis on Rafel. more
You are right I am sporting your view,It is costing , too much to every one more
Nobody watches 100 channels. At the most it will be @ 25 . So what is the rationale of having NCF charges for minimum 100 channels? This is the fraud on people of India to force them to pay for minimum 100 channels. Surprising why the Courts are supporting such an anti people step. Cable/DTH operators are providing service , then why can't their clients go to the consumer courts for reddresal? more
We can go to consumer courts for deficiency in service and not for increasing the tarrif. more
