India Has Done Well So Far To Contain The Deadly Virus more

It is a welcome measure by the Government of 21 days nationwide lockdown. Those engaged/ employed on monthly salary, be it employees or maids will continue to get their salaries. However, we need to think of small time self employed people like carpenters, welders, plumbers and all those who earn their livelihood as daily wagers. They have become jobless and its matter of their survival. Something needs to done for them. more

It is a welcome step. However, the success of the measure depends on how sincerely it is implemented. Indians do not easily submit to discipline. Let us not be fooled by the success of Janata Curfew. I find that in Telangana there have been quite a few transgressions of the curfew and there is confusion about what to do and what not to do during the period. T.V. reports also show that in some other states too the picture is not different. The respective governments have to take immediate corrective measures, stringent if need be. more
