Disbursing Cash from Post Offices
With this post, we would like to seek your inputs on experiences of withdrawing cash from post offices and the process effectiveness and inefficiencies observed. Also, if you have inputs on how the through put of post offices can be improved so a teller can process up to 500 customers that a teller at bank is processing, please share.

Unlike Banks Post offices are not provided with machines for counting currency notes. In Post offices there is a system of contributory negligence by which staff are held responsible for mistakes happenning in the adjacent counter but no such system is in vogue in Banks, .If Govt wants to improve efficiency and performance of staff in Post offices,facilities available to Bank staff should be provided to Staff working in Post offices. Service condition of Postal staff and Bank staff should be similar and working environment in both the places should be similar. more

Govt should have considered circulating 1000/- and 500 Rs note instead of 2000 . This thing has created more problem in public more

Evidently it is due to paucity of Rs.100 , Rs.50 , Rs.20 Rs.10 and Rs.5 Notes. Govt would have already released sufficient smaller denomination to avoid disturbance to general public. Now Govt should take steps to send smaller denominations to all banks and post offices. more

Post offices are not well equipped & generally staff shortage besides safety issues. Hence only Head post offices be asked to do provided separate staffs allotted for this besides a max. of Rs1000/ only per person, between 10am to 2pm. more
