Digital payment

Government is right in encouraging digital payment. However, very many parties do not accept or reluctant to receive money through plastic card. The reason is that they are charged by the Banks 2% on the sums received by them. If it is true, it is not correct.
There should be no charge on digital payments. If anything government should give some incentive.

Many dealers of hardware, electrical fittings, automobile spare parts dealers etc and wholesellers of medinies (atleast in place like Bhagirath Palace medicine market) don't accept digital payment. Cards are not the only means of digital payments. A debit or credit card transaction always attract a nominal charge, only from fund recipient. Govt of India has introduced several other digital payment modes like UPI, USSD, AEPS etc. Among these, UPI is the most economical, besides fund transfer being instantaneous. Literally no charge is levied! I have been using UPI (with BHIM App) for quite some time and have not paid a pie towards transfer charges. more
for payments at POSs, they demand extra amount to be paid. more
In fact there are no charges on digital payments more
I think for Credit Cards, the seller pays a charge that is adjusted in his Merchant Bank Account and only balance is paid to him.

But when a Trader displays 'Credit Cards Accepted' in his shop, he may not dare to say otherwise. more
