Dear Member, Many of you in this circle might have gone for getting high security registration plate that was made compulsorily and the Faridabad Police had announced that the vehicle without these number plates after 15th Sept 2017 would be challaned. Even though now the Faridabad Police have raised their hands on their own announcement, I would like to have views of the members about their experience with the agency authorised by the Haryana Transport Department. One of the issue was pertaining to non-acceptance of digital payment system. Other issues may be listed here as I am planning to take up with the Haryana Government. more

I think this whole issue has raised confusion and uncertainty in the minds of vehicle users. First time when the news appeared in papers saying challans will be issued if vehicles were not found with high security no.plates, people rushed to stand in queues to deposit money and get high security plates. I had to stand twice in line for 3-4 hours just to deposit money and get a receipt at Gandhi Colony centre (opposite ITI Faridabad). They only accepted cash for 'urgent' service and not the 'normal' one as was mentioned in papers. Their system was not working, so they accepted cash and entered in a register. I was asked to come back in 3-4 days to take my plates. When I returned after 4 days, the staff there could not find my receipt as they had not uploaded my details in their system. After 2 hours wait, they updated my details and then asked me to come back after one week. So this is how I got my high security no. plates. In between I read in papers that this requirement was only for vehicles regd after 2012 and not before. My vehicle was regd 2009. I am not sure why this was not mentioned in the first news. Then one day police backed out saying this was for transport dept to handle. If this was so when go into the whole exercise and confuse and inconvenience people. I still am not able to understand if this requirement is mandatory or not. Or this is only for Faridabad or entire Haryana. more
I have not yet felt necessity as nobody has shown urgency. I don't know why Haryana Government backed out. You have not mentioned. more
