Corruption in public works

Most of the public works contractors around the country are a menace.

These contractors through bribe and in some places fear influence Govt officials and secure contracts there by leading to various Government facilities being in shambles.

Highways, Roads, Colleges, Hospitals, every other public facility.

How can you this corruption be cracked down upon?? more

Our Punishments are very light. Decision taking is very very slow. Hardcore offenders must be treated on different yard stics. They must not be shown any leniency. Rather must be removed from Service. more
.I agree with the comment that GOVT. interference should be least. i.e, Govt. should promote service and efficienc y rather than buttering of boss that results in favorable Annual Confidential Report. Govt. executives have no responsibility for actions or lack of action on their part and they are not amenable to be sued in court of law. Thus there is no equality even before the law. It would be of interest to know expenditure on Vigilance dept. and /or A.C.B. against no. of successful cases and revenue earned by them. Why all such agencies are not able to find ways and means to prevent corruption for which they are in position? the answer is that they get their lively hood and more without doing work, then where is the driving force for them to work? Each executive and non-executive must have a clear authority and responsibility to completion of jobs and such completion should get recorded in the system within stipulated time and appropriate credit given to job doer by system. Any fault and/or delay should also be evaluated by system and debited to the culprit performer. generation of system will be resisted by executives and may take some time, but it is necessary to start sometimes towards permanent solution to most of the problems than wait indefinitely and perpetuate the misery for all time to come. It is likely that hopefully AI will solve the problem. But till then should we sit without attempting to solve the problem? Ifully agree that "that GOVT.is the best, which governs the least". But what has to be done has to be done. RYK more
Hare KRUSHNA! Any Government whoever is in power has to follow a process of earning. In absense of clarity of services to be rendered to public and delay in judiciary proceedings, has led to more corruption. more
When there is will, there is a way. Most of us are corrupt and tolerate the corruption. It is omni presence in our life from places of worship, hospitals, educational institutions, public places like roads, parks, banks etc. Corruption flourishes because of lack of will among those who see/knows it is happening more
Don't pay bribe. more
