Corporator's Role

Can we please discuss in this circle what is the value add people see from their corporators? What have they done for your area. Is this a position that is better eliminated or kept. Also suggest that LocalCircles or the SBM team do a poll on this?

I see no corporators interacting with us atleast online or may be they have not identified themselves in the circles. more

Corporate can do lot of in their area. They can share the part of the area and willingfully improve the roads, place dust bins to suitable places, prevent the water logging and so many social things. They just decide that only 10% from their profit they use for this work. There will be a wonderful improvement in the area with much cleanliness. The elected MLA of the area may inspire them and work will get done. more
Corporator are there to create CORPUS and be a good ORATOR. They collect Ransom from all the Construction sites , the whole time they are busy in that. It is too much to ask these people to help public. I know a corporator from Lakkasnadra, (wilson garden, Bangalore), who has grown 5000 times in 20 yrs in terms of wealth and assets. Does Income tax dept will raid him. more
who is corporator? Our GREATER VISAKHAPATNAM corporation did not have election for the last 5 years . special officers are running the show. Long live democracy. more
corporators or MLAs or MPs ministers or Prime minister what ever the names they take, if they reallydo their role, there wont be farmers suicides daily. the farmers are illiterates and dont know to do any other work other than farming, which are exploited by all sorts of mediators etc. the MLA s who name themselves as PRAJA PRATINIDHULU and enjoy all sorts of luxuries from their village to new delhi dont remember about them except at election moment and after their death these people go to get sympathy votes. they wont give right time right help to them. look in to karnataka all MLAs MInisters are busy with diaries stealing. if they show the same interest, i dont think there will be farmers suicides in karnataka. what farmers need is work and water source for cultivation, they just need support from all people to survive. what PM and does to them is. PM announces a scheme and advertise it papers and waste money. he dont bothers whether it is reaching end people.50% of money alloted on projects will eaten by officils and MLAs. if PM wont believe this he will never try to see measures to control it. he will be fool if he wont accept truth. we are seeing this system from 70 years, now also PM is following same system of work. drastic changes have to be done. compare with the private sector, example civil field same sort of works are done with good quality and less rate and last for long. government works should be repeated once in five years. more
Yes Amit, you are absolutely right. Corporator show their face when there is some fight or quarrel on the street but resolving of issues is not their forte. I live in Mayur Vihar I where streets are full of mess, encroachment and garbage. Dogs are hardly sterilized and as a result there are 40 - 50 puppies languishing and surviving the cruelties of people and road as well. If we take some actions collectively and represent ourselves in writing in hard copies filed in the concerned authorities office, it might be helpful. more
