Urge we list all public places where more than 500 or so people are there and then submit recommendation to Govt to act on what is practical. Can shut nice to have like cinemas but not have to haves like metros more

Everything is shut down now till 14th of April, 2020, which may be extended depending upon the prevailing situation at that time. more

It's a Religious Summit BUT TV DID NOT NOTIFY . 1 infects 2 to 4 AND each one infects others in multiples . CHINA COULD ERADICATE BY THIS DAY ONLY ON STRINGENT ACTIONS AND CONTROLS INCLUDING TOTAL LOCKDOWN, CLOSED BORDERS, BANNED MASS GATHERING . This is an unwarranted over-reaction. We should not react in a knee-jerk way. The Covid 19, though has R0 of more than one, its morbidity and fatality is comparatively less than other Influenza viruses, especially compared to Sars. The COVID-19 is a beta coronavirus belonging to the betacoronavirus 2B lineage. The virus has a 96% similarity to the bat SARS-like coronavirus strain BatCov RaTG13. Just like the later virus, the RNA of the COVID-19 virus encodes structural, non-structural, and accessory proteins. Additionally, the catalytic sites of the non-structural proteins of the COVID-19 are highly conserved, making it slightly easy to tackle. Upon virus isolation, it was found that it exerts its cytopathic effects, 96 hours after infection. The virus can be seen in a transmission electron microscopy after negative staining and appears as typical crown-like particles. The cellular infectivity of the virus can be neutralized with the help of sera from convalescent patients, thus suggesting the presence of immune defence against the virus. The WHO, in association with 25 national and international experts, launched a mission, wherein they investigated 56,000 COVID-19 infected individuals from different locations. They found a total of 104 strains of the virus, which are 99% similar and do not consist of any significant mutation. The virus was majorly found to infect people aged 30-69. Further, more men were found to be affected than women, presumably due to more smoking and chronic illness. The study of the Virus is a work in progress. We should be pragmatic and contain the spread of the disease without disrupting our economy as this shall also pass away. Shaheen Bagh has more that 50 mortality, Holi will have more. Summers are peeping in, the Virus will pass away causing enormous economic distress due to our reaction. more
