Convenience Charges for Digital India

Wife Ordered a meal on IndiGo flight yesterday.

Crew said: ₹400 with complimentary drinks.

Fair enough.

When it came to payment:

Cash → ₹400
Credit card → POS only shows $5 on the machine which turns out to be 460 Rs.

She asked why.

Response: Ma’am cash 400… card 460, our hands are tied.

So basically:
Pay by card = pay 15% extra 🤔

Not because of taxes.
Not because of premium service.
Just because you chose to pay digitally.

In a country pushing UPI & cashless payments… this is what we get onboard?

If ₹400 is meal price , charge the same regardless of payment mode.

IndiGo care to explain?if not LC Manager/ Sachin Bhai please take up more

Cashless shouldn’t mean costlier. more
You can't compare urinal charges with UPI payments. more
Digital convenience shouldn’t come with hidden premiums—transparency is the real upgrade. more
IndiGo is a useless airline. Soon they will charge you for breathing inside the aircraft etc. They have some incredible staff who will not give your pre-booked meal if you accidentally refuse it thinking you are required to pay again. The Rs 400 food is probably stale and not even worth Rs 50. more
Scholar , Why You are crying ? If You want to use the System You have to Pay. In abroad Urinal is Costing 1.8 euro where In Country it is FREE Or Some Private contractor charge nominal Rs. 2.00 . this money requires to run & maintain the facility & attendant payment. Nothing Is free. If You Feel Costly , don't take it. automatically it will get disappeared. Peoples are habitual for Crying everywhere. more
