Cleanliness of bogies

Recently I travelled by train no. 12633, superfast train from Chennai to Kanyakumari.
The toilets were pathetic and there cockroaches in the bogie and small children and women were scared.
Can't railways ensure that the toilets are clean and bogies have a routine pest control done on a regular schedule.
Interestingly railways takes survey over the phone as soon as the train has started at 17.30 hrs asking for the quality of air- conditioning and the bed roll when one hasn't even used the bed. Perhaps this survey could be done after the travel.
Moreover few passengers joined together and made the air-conditioning technician to increase the cooling effect and from the middle of the night people were shivering around but the technicians were missing.
It would be good that there are set norms and procedures if one has to raise the cooling effect and needs to be around to assess its effect after say 5 hrs. more

Absolutely right Mr.Nair. Passengers must do their duty by maintaining upkeep of coaches. Passengers are the one who dump wastes, spit on the walls . more
Social consciousnesses is day by day deteriorating as selfishness is becoming the order of the day. If the surroundings are clean then there will be an effort at least to maintain it that way, like the people of Calcutta did when metro was introduced. Our problem is social awareness and the failure of education system, be it schools or parents who are more preoccupied with self than society. more
I think the cleanliness should start with people like us - general public. Passengers would have seen wastes dumped in Bio- Tiolets making it choked. Passengers would throw wastes on the platform but not in the dustbin. People would spit wherever they feel like. All these can be changed if each one of us become aware and feel that just like our home even public place is ours and it is our responsibility to keep it neat and tidy. I feel that should start with each home. Parents should teach their children on civic sense and respect for others. Things would automatically improve. more
