Cleanliness Issues at Bus Stands

With this post we would like to seek your inputs on various cleanliness issues observed by you at bus stands across India.

We would like to understand issues only and via a later post brainstorm solutions which will then be shared with stakeholders like transport authorities, ULBs etc so actions can be taken to improve cleanliness at bus stands.

You are welcome to share issues at both bus stands and bus stops.

Public having contributed for swechh bharat cess, it is now the responsibility of local authorities to provide necessary arrangement for cleanliness. more
Bus stands and bus stops are unclean. No proper shelters are provided . Toilets are always dirty and and there is foul smell all around . Drinking water provision to be made at Bus Stands/bus stops .Bus stops/bus stands lack Proper lighting arrangement etc. more
Swachh Bharat Mission is a near zero. Heavy fines with jail terms (RI) is the only option to deter our people from dirtying and littering the country. The government's responsibility should end with providing adequate, easily accessible garbage bins, toilets & urinals at reasonable distances. more
bus stands do become junction for people to take rest and freshen up but there need to be proper resources to manage the new influx of people who get down at these bus stands. conveniences should be made functional with regular cleaning bus stands should be made free of vendors within 200 mtrs radius coz they are the major source of litter vendor should be heavily fined for not maintaining cleanliness around their stalls people should be fined for littering as and where they feel like more
all the bus stand should have one toilet block with sufficient water. more
