Over 100+ members of the circle have raised this subject of what is being done to ensure there are no leakages w.r.t Swachh Bharat Funds at the State and Urban Local Body levels.
We would like to seek your inputs on what mechanisms must be put in place to ensure that there is no leakage of funds once they are allocated and every rupee is being spent effectively at the State and ULB level.

un less the corrupt are caught and punished fast and hard, you cannot stop pilferage of funds. only a small fraction of the allcated funds on the works. the rest is gobbled by the babus- politician- contractor nexus. they operate like first cousins. the same repair is done every months. more

Even after making an RTI application for information on application for funds and allocation of Swach Bharat funds to the Almora Nagar Palika we were unable to get any information at all. If there is no transparency, how does one check leakages? more

Politicians and officials wait for funds to swallow. For example, tender is issued over tar for existing roads. They swallow full amount. Then they give another to repair patch up and with this fund they construct roads. Now see the fate of administration. Looting and cutting is their target. No code of conduct for politicians. Law is for them. more
