Chinese Products (Used by Children) Standards
A lot of chinese products are invariably being bought by parents of young children and distributed on children’s birthdays. Most of them are substandard.
Why is BIS and Customs allowing such products to enter India. Why standards of India are not mandatory for such products. What if Indian children get hurt with such toys, what if they choke by putting a chinese eraser in mouth that looks 99% like a fruit.
If BIs cant certify them customs must block them from coming till they meet our standard. more

I wonder which place finds parental supervision of children in this system of child-upbringing. Why do parents buy such products in the first instance ? Neither BIS regulations nor the government will put a stop to buying from China......... more

Make in India does not prohibit other nations to enter your country's markets if you want to export your products through out the globe to maintain your trade deficits with other nations to the barest minmum as well as to earn the precious foreign exchange, without which no nation can survive even for a single day. However, our government must clearly specify the minimum standard and quality of products being imported by our traders, in absence of which no goods irrespective of the countries of origin, should be allowed to enter the country. Provisions should be made for stern action against the concerned importers as well as the Custom officers if any imported goods of inferior quality is found available in our markets. more

it defeats the basic essence of make in india when we allow china and other country products to be sold here without giving our people a chance more

Mathur ji, who is bothered about the people? We find even the private hospitals fleecing the patients who have no other place to go. The problem is that the mind set during the last 70 years has been changed to such a low level that most of us wants to be a crorepati without putting in commensurate efforts and for that unethical and fraudulent methods are the ways to achieve that end. Most of our leaders and role models are leading the way in this regard. Unless we inculcate such values in our children I don't think we shall see the trend change in our lifetime. Such basics should be taught not only at the school levels but should start at home. A child does what he sees his parents and teachers doing because they are his role models.. No doubt the Government has also a major role to play in all this. more

Who has to change the mind set? The government, or, the law, or the elderlies in the family, or, academic educational system which are all commercial and managed by the business people? You appear to be from a business family. more
