CBSE School Fee Disclosure - Faridabad
After LocalCircles polls in October and your demand for transparency in school fee increases and structures, CBSE had issued directives that schools share their fee structures with CBSE and disclose them on the website.
In a recent LocalCircles poll, on average 63% parents across 9 major cities said that their school had not published fee structure on website. The number was 100% for Faridabad. LocalCircles is continuing to pursue the matter with CBSE and Dept of School Education, MHRD. If you have inputs on the same for them or in context of Faridabad schools, you may share. more
The duty of the CBSE is to conduct examinations for some boards. They should try to introduce uniformity in academic levels across the country and to make the education relevant to the needs of the present day society. Even in this task it seems to be failing. Otherwise why should there be a need to conduct conducting Nation level examinations for higher courses? Further why students doing so well in board examination fail miserably in competitive examinations. I some times feel that there is little relationship between board and competitive examinations. In such a situation the boards like CBSE and many others like them should concentrate upon their duty rather than interfering in schools' nonacedemic matters. more
Checked the website of Eicher school Faridabad just now (http://eicherschool.net/), Nowhere is the fee structure mentioned. Can we have the CBSE do more than just issuing directives as it is not having the desired effect? more
When the government can not provide quality education what gives them a right to interfere in the working of private schools? I believe that let the parents decide what fees is reasonable for what quality of education. If there is a mismatch the market forces will automatically make an adjustment. By interfering in their working the government is discouraging many others to bring more schools and start competition. more
