Bullet Train - 77 ha and 1.08lakh crores

PM has approved the land acquisition for the bullet train project. the cost is 1.08lakh crores, acquisition of 77 ha of forest land, displacement of several thousands of people and a few hundred villages. the displaced people would have to find alternate places to live and also jobs. One of the reasons given is that it would provide employment. Instead of spending this humongous amount for project which may or may not have a full utility, would it not be prudent to utilise this money to clean up entire India, improve pedestrian and road infrastructure, drastically improve public transportation across India (rural connectivity included), reduce crime rates, improve government education and medical facilities, revive water bodies, improve technologies to reduce corruption and frauds etc. All of these would definitely generate more employment that what the bullet train would have to offer, would save the environment and not displace people unnecessarily. There are reports that the all is not well with the Chinese bullet trains since it is causing buildings to shake and develop instability.
Probably, a bullet train is good to have at this stage, but not a necessity. There are other priorities. more

The slept over by previous Governments of all developing States on the centralizing crowd in different Towns and Cities IS THE RESULT FOR MANY TYPES OF FAST TRAFFIC MOVEMENT options in many States . Directorate of Town and Country Planning ; Urban Development Authorities have totally set aside the real meaning , purpose and objective of these Institutions . Many Cities are suffering from lack of livelihood infra . Many Towns are facing lack of Earning opportunities to their Citizens. FURTHER SLEEP ON THESE TWO INSTITUTIONS WILL result in arranging Helicopters in all Mega Cities in an another short time . more
Chennai - Hyderabad distance is 600 kms, train travel time 12 hours, 50 kms per hour when there is a dedicated railway track. Cost of flight varies from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 15,000 during the non-season to season. Train are always full, flights are also running full capacity. If your run bullte train between these cities, it can cover entire distance in 3 hours flat, & assuming it will run 4-5 times a day, then also it willbe profitable for currently there are 06 trains running daily. In addtion there are almost 10 - 12 buses plying daily. Stating this economics as a normal traveller in the trains & buses & flights. Does it not sound economical for bullet train ?? I travelled in Chinese bullet trains & know how safe & vibration free there are. Yes when a trains brazess past at 300 -400 kms / hr, it creates airwaves / airfoils, which affect the buildings nearby. So buildings have to be at a distances. In that journey of 450 ksm, I have seen the water bottle did not move an 'mm" from its original marked position - being an engineer, I know what I am checking & accuracy of reporting. Whenever technology develops sceptics are in fore front. Mr. George Panicker is one such person holding pessimistic views & is entitled to. This stupid babudom felts fridges are a luxury & taxed them, Air conditioners are for luxury & taxed them. Computers are luxury & taxed them Mobiles are luxury so taxed them. Now a not a day or minutes /moves / goes without their presences. The world is changing, accept the technology & move on. more
Padmanabhan-ji, Since the BJP Govt. has taken the wrong decision of the previous Lallu Railway Ministry, to implement this Bullet Train Project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, for the filthy rich Diamond merchants like Nirav Modi, we can only expect the Opposition parties to use this anti-Citizen project as a Huge Stick to beat the BJP at the Parliamentary Elections in 2019. No doubt about that. This only proves what I've been warning about ; Baboo (n) s decide what is very profitable for themselves and the Contractors eg.NHAI projects, then use lakhs of Crores of Public Money to meet their needs of amassing Crores of Black Money. See what happened to most Hon'ble MetroMan Shri E.Sreedharan. Whoever controls the Baboo(n)s , control the Govt. of India. Whether UPA or NDA. Right ?? more
