Keep agricultural income tax free. The real reason the farmers undergo financial distress is the State prohibiting them from direct access to market. They have to sell only through the Agricultural Produce Marketing Corporation which is a State Government body completely controlled by the politicians in the State who are in power. They man these entities with their own people as traders and ensure that the farmer takes what is given as buying price. Tomato sells for Rs 20 per kg. in retail in the city but the farmer who brings his tomatoes to the APMC mandi gets Rs 2 per kg. Tax events like IPL. more
It needs review. Why so many people/agencies are given a total tax relief. It is not that those who have been given exemption are POOR. Many of them are FILTHY RICH. Such people must be brought under Tax net. more
Let politicians also pay taxes, be it income tax, toll tax or any other. Unfortunately, we have multi-level taxation in our country starting from paying taxes on all our purchases to income tax. Why there is no tax on sports including IPL? more
Its a blunder that even after 75 years of independence, agricultural income has been kept incometax free! It must be taxed and reduce the tax on personal income. When the government is always in search of new avenues to tax, what is the justification to keep the income from events like IPL, where the net income generated is in thousands of crores every year, tax-free? more
Farm, IPL and income of politicians/political parties must be taxed. more
