Berths and train compartments
I have always seen that most of the women be of any age prefer a lower berth, so my suggestion is why don't we have enough compartments added to the existing railways so that all the women esp women who are traveling with kids and aged women get a lower by default. more

I just traveled from Chennai to Bangalore. The most difficult process is to reach the compartment from the entry point. We need to walk a great distance ! If you start giving lower berths to all women, we will need to walk greater distance ! I cannot understand why Women who want to reach the Moon cannot get on to the Upper birth in a compartment. I am a senior citizen and was given an upper berth and had to get down 5 times to go to the washroom during night time. I don't think anybody can help this situation- be it a man or a women ! more

Till now there is no way to demand a lower berth in Railways. I as a senior citizen, several times got an upper berth and had to use that. And you are asking for all lower berths by default !! No consideration for the senior citizens, and other travelers with some disability etc?? What a demand !!! And already there are nearly 20 compartments to most express/superfast long distance train and generally the last coaches remain outside the platform. more
