Basic changes required for SWACHH BHARAT

There is need for changing for basic parameters for bringing in any long terms in cleanliness.

1. The basic workers i.e. Safai Karamchari have to understand the concept of cleanliness. By bringing in voluntary work of member of public, their responsibility cannot diminish infact the biggest workforce in any Municipal are the Safai Karamcharis. It is a known fact they do not perform do not work (ghost employee.) If we go to their colonies or their houses, they are the dirtiest. How can we expect cleanliness they themselves do not understand the meaning of ‘Dirty Space’. We can easily create a RFID jackets which can monitor their movement during work hours.

2. We need to change all heads of the sanitation deptt of all the urban bodies on one go. We just cannot expect any result since these people have not performed for 60 years and expecting them to change with the slogan is not correct. Hence in one stroke all the Municipal Sanitation Heads be moved/transferred or assigned new task without any delay. The State Govt be advised not to make any exception. The new officer should be willing to accept new technologies and timings of works.

3. All over the developed world, the road sweeping and garbage cleanliness done at night time and not on daytime. This has to be introduced as soon as possible. Not only, it will clean the city but bring down the pollution level immediately. more

Public having paying Swechha Bharat cess, needs to get all types of facility from government. more
There are certainly checks that can bring safaiwaalas to work. Let politicians stop their intervention and administrators can show the result. Surat MC was an example when SR Rao was the commissioner more
Very firstly, House keeping persons should understand extent of cleanliness; enabling them to perform accordingly. For the purpose, they require training. more
Agreed. These points have been raised a number of times but does not seem to bring about change in these people. more
