Banking Video KYC

How can Video eKYC be valid for opening a bank account and applying for a credit card, but the same Video eKYC is not applicable when re-KYC is needed? What kind of twisted logic is this?

What's seriously wrong with Indian Banks?

Can LC Manager please take this up with RBI? more

there are chances of fraudulent practice. You can make several VDo kyc. But personal KYC is required always for varification. more
banks want more accounts and money and when one wants to take the money then questions are asked but instead of making it simple they make it more cumbersome but if a minister comes then he does not have to do anything everything is done by the bank and even the manager may visit his house to get his signature etc details and he fears for his job since all these are corrupt more

very valid point. seems like they are interested only to bring you into their system and then take you for a long ride. even for deposits and other investments they are very generous in making you committed and then for renewal or redemption make you go round in circles... more
You are totally wrong. Opt for auto renewal and it is done without asking for a single question. Opt for auto closure and the money gets credited to yor account on the maturity date before you get up in the morning more
Indian banking is a mess. Just try to open an account. And the requirements for opening an account changes from bank to bank. The documents requirements to open an account changes almost daily. I have experienced this in the last few years when I tried to open two accounts with different banks. As for this posting by Radha Puri about updating KYC, it is even messier. I have accounts with three banks. If and when banks require me to update KYC, I have to fill out forms. Really??? I did not know about the video eKYC. Good to know. Also, there is a central registry for storing customer's KYC. What is that for? Indeed, an overhaul of Indian banking is direly needed. more
