Everyone take the time to open my attachment and see it. The oil companies are selling pure petrol at 160/liter and e20 at 105. so basically prices have been increased in a very very manipulative manner. the joke is on the people. shame, serious shame. more
You are wrong here, XP 100 is not 100 % pure petrol i.e. its 100 octane petrol. the normal petrol have RON around 91-92 , XP 95 RON 94 - 95 and XP 100 RON 99 - 100, this petrol is for high end cars and bikes with high compression engine. this is the reason its cost around 160/L. In poster you can see it premium petrol not pure petrol. kindly check the facts before posting. more
Unchecked profiteering out of uninformed measures is nothing short of sin. The government's gradual blending of ethanol with fuel and providing proper information to citizens was acceptable. However, increasing the ethanol % in a knee-jerk manner, causing harm to engines that were sold just a few years ago, is nothing short of fraud. Thereafter, selling "pure petrol" at a 60% markup is a cardinal evil. Some people justify this in the name of a free market or capitalism. This is far from the truth, as it has nothing to do with crude oil prices but is more an act of manipulation and profiteering. Our country is predominantly a demand-oriented economy, and conventional demand and supply pricing criteria will fail. Motor fuel is a significant cost in our daily lives and cannot be relegated to some theoretical norms of pricing. There has to be some common-sense regulation and fairness with such common-use items. Involuntarily blending unchecked quantities of ethanol in petrol, ruining the capital assets of citizens without thought, is nothing short of a crime when adequate safeguards and crossover time are not available. Pricing fuel at Rs 160 per litre, claiming its ethanol-free status is caused by an act of the government. Is official adulteration any different from the bootleggers who add kerosene and white oil to petrol and profiteer? If the government commits the sin, then it gets blessed automatically as a stroke of wisdom and foresight, a path-breaking step in saving forex and an act of capitalism? How callous is this thought and attitude? more
Look at the profits of oil companies till June, 25. They are a whopping 140% increase. Why, because of cheap oil imports from Russia and re-export to other countries after refining. Who gained? States and Centre with almost 100% tax on petrol and diesel and refining companies. Not a single penny passed on to consumers though International oil prices plummeted. If Govt.'s real intention is to help public, let them bring petroleum products under GST., then the price of petrol would automatically come down to Rs.60/- per liter and Gas cylinder to Rs.500. more
