There is a tolerance limit in all weighing scales. Scales at airports are usually set with a negative tolerance. However, the staff should exercise discretion not to charge borderline cases. This differs with each airline. Indigo and Spicejet are known to be very nasty/greedy in this regard. However, in many cases, passengers also try and play smart with their carry-on case, checked-in baggage and laptop bag. A few kilos shuffling here and there and they can avoid extra charges. Greedy airlines whose mandate is to fleece will try to capitalise on opportunities. Ultimately, the buyer has to beware. The trend is not encouraging, though on the part of airlines. more

If they feel that weight is higher at airline luggage weight machine then those should check the weight on their own machine / weighing scale. It is widely available at Rs. 500-600 . Why to cry on social media ? The concern Officers who are admitting such types of notes should be questioned accordingly & note in his CR . waste of time. more

Let me tell you an incident that happened with me, on 28th April 2025, I was coming from Bangalore to Gorakhpur with my wife by Indigo flight 6E 6302 and wheel chair was provided for both of us by Indigo, seat number was 002A and 002B and we had checked in through DIGIYATRA but when we went to check in luggage, they told us that we will have to pay 5000 rupees extra and they refused to accept this payment by card, so we had to travel by paying cash for which we were not even given any receipt, so this is the behavior with senior citizens and our compulsion was that we could not miss the flight, so give them whatever they asked for. more
