Air bags Mandatory in all cars
I got this attached notification on whatsapp friends. Can BIS please confirm if air bags are now mandatory in all cars? How is it being enforced?? more

Roads are repaired by contractors, not by departmental employees. But the authorities are more interested in implementing new projects , because kickbacks are more! That is why roads suffer. more

Most of the Municipal Bodies have become lethargic because of powerful unions. They will always threaten for strikes. Hence the condition of Road is going to remain horrible. Another is corruption and hence the quality of roads will suffer. more

It is a good suggestion. Whether big or small, all four wheeler should have air bag facilities. more

Once again the govt. wants to burden the citizens with ridiculous proposals, like the vahicle scrapping policy. Air bags are useful only if the max. permissible vehicle speed is, say, 100 kmph or more as in developed countries. In India, the road conditions are so horrible with potholes and illegal humps that a steady speed of even 45 kmph is not achievable! Please visit Visakhapatnam to see what terrible conditions are prevailing on the roads, except in the VIP areas. The govt. must give top priority to the proper maintenance of roads, not to air bags. This is the need of the hour. Further, air bags will only favour the car manufacturers and escalate the cost and also increase the carbon emissions in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of air bags which may prove infructuous if they do not actuate in a collission. If the govt. is hell bent on introducing air bags, then it must pay all the cost and compensation, if the air bags do not actuate in a collision. This would be a fair and square deal. Is the govt. ready to accept this challenge? more

Agree!!! Please ask the Govt or the persons who woke up with this bright idea as to how man people died of road crashes before the air bags were first introduced....

Sir, there are youngsters (and even others) graduating from 2 wheeler to cars. I am talking of this lot, some of whom have just reached a stage ,where they can barely afford the cheapest car.
For eg. I have an employee, who didnt want to buy a 2nd hand car and has been waiting to graduate from his bike to a new car. more
