Addressing Child Trafficking
Below are your suggestions on what can be done in the area of child trafficking. Kindly review and if you have any additional inputs, please do share. We will then compile the same and take it up with the Ministry of Home Affairs on next steps.
Indian Police Foundation
1. Smart phone app could be created to report child trafficking
2. Whenever police find children begging on roads and signals, they should be taken to rescue homes
3. NGOs must be roped in to find and rescue trafficked children
4. RWAs should appoint committees to report any child found on the roads in their vicinity to police
5. A website could be created to report a suspicious/trafficked child
6. In every village/town, a few people who have proved themselves to be selfless, non-communal, social, educated and so on, can be designated by the Government as Ambassadors against child trafficking
7. Police should create special cells in each district who could easily be reached by people who want to report such an incident
8. A toll free helpline could be started to report trafficking related issues
9. Each district should have a set up to randomly check the ownership of children when they are being taken around
10. Formulate local city circles with police and citizens in tandem to moral policing so more people can get connected to the cause of child trafficking and inform easily about any suspicious activities. more

Begging should be banned and beggars should be taken to a rehabilitation home. If begging is banned major portion of trafficking will be removed. more

The main reason for child trafficking is for begging purpose. Begging should be banned in India and if any found begging they should be taken into custody and Government should set up rehabilitation homes to take care of them. more

A dedicated link in all police websites which gives the national record of missing children, and also children found shall be available in public domain. Allow people to upload photos of any untoward activity spotted by them. more
