AC servicing - Brands vs Local

Glad that LocalCircles has taken up this subject. The problem with brands servicing our AC is slow response and high costs while the problem with local vendors is poor reliability and limited accountability.

There is a third option. Hire services from other smaller professional companies like Urban Co. I found them both competent and economical. And their services cover a lot more than just AC. more
None of these comments give solutions. How about buying from the business that provides company trained service and repair services? Many companies around the world have training for the service employees. Yes they charge higher prices for those repairs or serves but they know the product. Ask the merchant for this before buying your A/C. more
Above is correct. Brands are taking time and some of more charge then local vendors. It is naturally as they have perfect man to solve the problem . Their salaries may be high but work will also satisfactory. While local venders are available easily and they are not popular So they charge less then brand service providers. Some of them require to stable in the market and some are on daily wages occupied by some agents. But they are doing good and also perfect. I have inquire with the service provider and come to know that mostly IIT passed are there. Seller should provide good services after sell for repairs and regular service. Sellers are not yet bothered for any inconvenience to buyer. And public is habituated with all this things. Public must have time to takeup the matter and follow up also. more
Now a days AC s are common . The Competition in market & low Profitability , High Manpower cost made it unreliable to keep their own staff. Today's Young Generations are busy with Mobile Phones & Do not want to work honestly . Also most of Having Little common sense & technical knowledge. If any Person having Common Sense he can repair the AC .I am doing my own AC Service since last 40 years. more
the problem in india is all oem are only interested in selling the units whether it is washing machine or tv or ac etc and when u call the company service person he will mention that it is old one or parts are obsolete etc or they will keep charges very high so that people will think twice about doing it and buy a new one .This attitude needs to change about ten years back there was a problem with our sony lcd tv and called sony service centre and they said parts are not there.hence i kept on searching on line and got one person who said he will get the parts from singapore or so and will get it done .i do not know from where he got it but till now it is working without any issue govt needs to be firm against these manufacturers who are not interested in servicing their products and give some lame excuse at least for 10/15 yrs parts should be made available and also create a portal wherein customer can lodge a complaint wherein concerned authorities can take necessary action on the manufacturers or ask them to replace the unit.in car segment it is much more reliable more
Yes totally agree more
