I agree with Ramesh, senior citizens must be exempted from linking aadhar number with bank accounts, postal accounts. IN reponse to the suggestion made by Shri Arjun Pangannavar above, I feel that there is absolute necessity for an National Identity and Aadhaar is an excellent scheme. However, the verification process has some setbacks which could be strengthened by providing one or two more means for ensuring personal identity as an alternative to finger prints alone. more

Arjunji, To link Aadhar to Phone number, no body is taking IRIS scan or finger print scan. There are going to be some challenges. To weed out corruption, we must link Aadhar in property registration (new and old). Once corruption comes to reasonable levels, we can look at privacy issues. Linking Aadhar should be made mandatory for election voter ID as well. more
