The survey is based on our votes. How can it be rigged?? more
why crackers at all? Cant the celebrations be peaceful? The sound/noise & air pollution are hazardous to one and all. It is time we become civilized at least now. It was sons drowning ceremony & later it was mother's drowning ceremony spoiling left over water bodies (polluting the depleting water sources). Do you call these festivals or fest-evils? more
Seems to be a rigged survey more
We must cultivate community celebration. For e.g in US there is a ban on fireworks by private citizens and on Republic Day crackers and other fireworks are done by govt in a designated place in a grand scale at a fixed time and public enjoy the sight like a picnic. In India several areas, like park, open ground, can be chosen and trained staff used to fire crackers at a fixed time. To start with, multistorey buildings can collectively do it in one place and others watch. By this way we can prevent accidents. Though it can be argued that fireworks industry provides jobs for millions and they will be deprived, by these measures, alternative employments can be found. Incidentally nation can save several thousand Crores apart from stopping pollution, both noise and chemical. Equally govt should stop speakers blaring between 9p.m to 6a.m. Mosques are using conical speakers and keep blasting whenever they like, which affect children's study and peace of sorrounding. Politicians holding public meeting in central open ground, obstructing traffic and creating noise pollution. more
Why after 10 PM ? At any time it disturbs new born babies, old persons like to take rest, students who are studying, animals etc. Moreover it is disturbing. Not only crackers, but also battery horns can be replaced to rubber horns and to stop band party . We want noise free life. more
