1-Rain water harvesting as a system shall be done by all states to solve drinking water problem existing in almost all states
2-Flooding on road is due to insufficient drainage and collection of rainy water shall be planned by each city individually and checked by state Govt/Centre Govt.This planning can solve drinking water problem.
3-Road digging is being done all the year along due one reason or other no one seems to be worried in Muncipality to solve the problem by making underground service tunnel etc.How much money can be saved is unimmaginable and also avoiding inconvenience to all. more  

Every House shall have its surrounding with open earth at 1 and a 1/2 feet width within the compound wall as has been strictly observed till 1980 - 1990 . more  
Now only States realizing to object Water Tanks /Reservoirs 'land grabbing & trying to renovate them ; govts. re still not opting to evict those occupied Drainages with huge constructions costing Crores ; while the governments still not realizing strict enforcement of Layout permissions to set right the repeat digging of roads for cabling & drainage necessities. Astonishingly , still, the Municipalities are not interested to regulate appropriately to arrest over crowding than the available infra. more  
1.) Need to stop concreting the shoulders of the road as Chennai Corporation does. It prevents water to harvest and guides the water to sewerage or drainage. 2.) The Pavements should be made in such a way that the water seeps into the land. 3.) Rain water harvesting should be made compulsory and should be checked periodically. 4.) The water used for domestic purpose should be recycled and used . 5.) The desilting of all ponds, lakes , field channels etc should be done in periodic intervals and the authorities should be made accountable for non - implementation. 6.) In school cariculam the students should be taught not to waste water. 7.) India is a peninsula and hence gifted with sea. Desalination plant should be set up and water to be used. more
