You are absolutely right,Mr.Sharma.There has to be a love of the nation,in the case of leaders,a selfless love.Instead,we don't have leaders,we have bleeders.And have had for decades.Please read HM Seervai's commentary on the Indian Constitution,you will read about how an Indian politician changed the course of a river for his constituency!That is taking "nursing"their constituencies and selfishness and greed for power to a totally new level. It takes love and pride in your nation&city&village etc to build up values such as civic sense.Also decency and discipline. more

Without any Malice to any Architect or planner: Have simply one question that finds no answer and this is name an Indian City that can be termed "Well Planned" ..............by an Indian town planner. It is self service all the way at exchequer's cost by all and sundry in power and exceptions if any are rare and far ie if any more

Undoubtedly civic sense has to be drilled in.A strict approach would have to be taken.But we need covered dustbins for that.However,government IS FIRST AND FOREMOST responsible-whether in educating or maintenance or keeping an eye on things or provision of tools(such as dustbins and public urinals for sanitation).And no councillor is doing a favour that every park seat must have the words "Kind courtesy Shri,x,Councillor..." plastered on it.The entire culture must change more

There are rain water drains along most roads. The irony is that we as Indians learn only by the stick. These are full of waste plastic bags and one can see the Administration vehicles cleaning up all these drains before every season. WE must now educate and drill social responsibilities through road shows or school children, who are very good at showcasing the problems. We and we alone need to work. more

Excellent ideas here.I think many of us may be using dome at least.However,the problem also lies majorly in water use/misuse/wastage outside houses.Tankers will spill water all over the roads.They don't cover the tops-water splashes from there and their outlet taps invariably leak.Their pipes often don't fit.And when the drivers stop for tea etc,I have seen them permitting people to wash their faces and feet in the torrent of water that pours out.I have cautioned one at least and even taken their vehicle number down.Years ago,when I was living in Sushant Lok,I often saw water gushing out of the large water supply pipes for days on end,totally unchecked.The authorities would take days to act.There was a lot of neglect then on the part of authorities.One was considered mad to complain.I don't. know,I may have tried unsuccessfully to write a Letter to the Editor of some newspaper or other.In a country feeling under drought,where water scarcity is a humongous issue,any water wastage is criminal.Authorities should be held liable for not being immediately attentive to plugging leaks in water pipes and tankers more
