FAKE ADS ON GOOGLE ADS & GOOGLE NEWS
On 10th January, I was reading the Newsfeed on my Google Assistant and there were several Google Ads embedded. One of the ads was a New Year offer as part of a clearance sale of BOSE SOUND SPORT FREE TRULY WIRELESS EARPHONES.
The product was being offered for Rs.2999/- as part of a clearance sale when its original prices is nearly Rs.19,000/- (https://www.amazon.in/Bose-Wireless-Headphones-Midnight-Citron/dp/B0748JM8M5/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1548750360&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=bose%2Bsoundsport%2Bfree%2Bwireless%2Bheadphones&th=1) This is the product link on Amazon.
I clicked on the ad and it led to a mobile website called easymartonline.com since I trusted Google ads. It took the order without even registration. I was suspicious and ordered COD.
On 29/1/19, I received a parcel with the label of the above product but after opening it found that it contained a 64 GB sandisk sd card and chinese pimple cream.
In the intervening 2 weeks, I had already contacted Bose India customer support and they replied that they have forwarded it to the legal department but no more feedback after that. Hence, when the parcel did arrive, I thought it was genuine because of the label and made the payment.
I have tried to find a way to complain to the GOOGLE ADS department and could not find any contact details.
I have tried finding the website that appeared on my mobile but there is no such website on the PC. The receipt label also contains a vague return address - RAMPURI GHAZIABAD DELHI - 201011. I think this address is a fake.
Hence, I would like to make the general public aware of this fraud as well as the government and the respective companies to take necessary actions so that such people are punished.
