as mentioned above one of the oldest junctions,like villupuram junctions but development point of view, it should have been much more than what is there today and many facilities like reservation counters -here i like to register one thing, in tamil nadu the reservation counters in many towns are very very less, because of that only people are taking the bus journey-no proper advt in the media and even the railway people-employees are also not taking much interest for their station developments which i have observed like many inter city trains they can organize or recommend or given an suggestions, but it is not happening, just send the rep to the central station-chennai for eg.guruvaur train which starts at 7.45 am how the people are being treated - let the railway people should explain to the ministry..

It is the central place connecting south and north, all the trains bound to south ,east, and west are to cross Trichy. but to handle this traffic the infrastructure is too poor, so most of the trains are wait here for along time for want of track clearance, particularly trains from Rameshwaram and Karaikudi are held up here on both ways, so some sort of development is to made, the platform facilities are also to be improved

Trichy station is overall good and has to do more on housekeeping.
