Something is fishy here. There must be some give-and-take between the govt employees and the hawkers. Or the hawkers must have been placed by these employees or the corporators.

Worst and MOST Corrupt Muncipal Corporation of the India

No footpath left for pedestrians due to Street vendors /Hawkers. Across the road whole parking /ground f floor is lying empty which was earmarked for them.

Footpaths in the city are meant for all sorts of vendors, garage & hotel owners and parking of two/four wheelers. If at all a particular stretch is available anywhere for the walkers, that should be treated as an exception. Our encroachment dept is a total failure. They have no courage and protection to act without bias. They come with the sarkari vehicle, pick up some handcarts, which would reappear on the same spot the very next day. Its like like catching the stray dogs and leaving them in some other area so that they would be back to the original place within a few days. This is my personal experience. I have stopped complaining about stray dogs on seeing this type of action from PMC.

Just come and see for yourself at Pashan market every Sunday from dawn to dusk. The entire stretch of road from Pashan circle to Cosmos bank is fully blocked either by the vendors/hawkers or by the vehicles parked by customers. This is the only road connecting the people living in Pashan, Sutarwadi, Sus Road areas to Pune city, Pune station, Airport and major hospitals. Sutarwadi Police Chowki is at a distance of 100 meters but no one bothers to control the traffic and the hawkers. Its a DO AS YOU LIKE situation.

Even footpaths are occupied by all sorts of vendors and hawkers.Driving a car is dangerous.Road from old Passport office to Baramati Hostel is fully occupied by all vendors specially eateries of all types.Road from Baramati Hostel to Kuslakar Statue is occupied from both sides by illegal construction and whatever road is availble the same is used by vendors.No footh paths to walk.

Pune PMC has failed in all respect to run the city.All the Depts of PMC are in active.Be it un-authorised constructions in the entire city,encroachment on streets by all types of vendors,Political interference and tendency of grabbing the land,money ,benefits etc. by the so called leaders.In spite of all these things PMC wants city to be converted to SMART CITY.First lt them follow the existing rules and regulations to clean the present city and then w will think about bringing Smartness in the city.
