Does not seem to be a whole lot of work done in this sector. The govt run hospitals are filthy and dens of corruption. There has to be a major overhaul done to the people who work here - there are fake doctors and nurses, goons for ward boys and maids. The beds are filthy and the rooms and bathrooms are disgusting. Swachh Bharat never visited these hospitals.

There has to be very strict regulations on giving approvals to private hospitals & clinics, where they are coming up and if they have the infrastructure and facilities to run the same and if the doctors and staff are trained and certified to treat patients. Today we have hospitals sitting on open drains and garbage dumps, they are dumping bio-waste in the sewers and open nallas. Punishment should be swift and to the maximum possible by law.

Department of Health and Family Welfare is to be strengthened with Investigation and Vigilance Wings in all the States since the habituated corrupt practices and local/political/businessmen influence is indeed ruining the whole issue.

Ministry's Family Planning efforts are disastrous.Even it has not initiated any New population policy after the expiry of NPP t a2010.

Despite the Supreme Court ruling to ban all forms of chewable tobacco, this ministry has not done anything to implement. They have not even taken clue from Yogi ji in UP and banned it in Central Govt offices. Right outside health ministry there is gutka selling fast and many govt employees in the ministry itself consuming it.
