Building construction in the city has no regulations/rules. All the houses are build in such a compact area that it is hard to even make out difference between two houses. There is no space between the houses. Narrow roads and no maintenance of drainages etc. If it is new layout then there is no legal approval by the authority and they sell the plots to innocents!!
At Bangalore, worst roads, especially where heavy traffic movements there , it is worst, also connecting roads has gone worst, Govt lands which are open can be utilized for road expansion and for creating parking space to ease traffic congestion. footpaths clearance requires urgent attention, underground connecting roads , flyovers on all major junctions is very imp
Certainly needs improvement. Absence of planning and poor execution of projects. Also inordinate delays in construction of even small culverts or road widening etc.
Quality of roads, footpaths, drainage, water-supply and electricity lines suffer due to outdated specifications together with poor supervision resulting in sub-standard quality. The maintenance of these essential services, at regular intervals, is again using out dated technology. The garbage collecting vehicles are not covered on all sides causing spillage on the movement. It is for the head of the institute to upgrade the specifications to bring in some quality. Accountability is another issue that needs to be addressed.
