Working Methodology

We will be picking up the top brand grievances (July and August) in the circle and they will be shared with Minister of Consumer Affairs and our leadership team. The objective would be to create awarness and forward to the other stakeholders so action can be taken against the brands that are regularly engaging in similar types of malpractices repeatedly with the consumer.

We do not intend to address individual consumer grievances via this platform (brands may choose to join and address them) but understand consumer challenges from a collective stand point and bring structural/policy changes in to improve how brands/service providers deliver products/service to the Indian Consumer.

One experience with international brand HITACHI -The Split Air-conditioner of Hitachi which I bought was making noise beyond their specified level. After 4 visits of their service people they confirmed higher level of sound replaced the unit after 3-4 week. But that also made same level of noise. HITACHI was unable to adhere to their own specifications and so they took back the AC and returned my entire amount.
The point is that we make decision to purchase something on the basis of perceived image of Brand, which they themselves are not sure about delivering more  
IT Sector is very powerful financially and politically. They do nor care about what an individual is saying or reacting. A consolidated effort may change their attitude and they may refrain from doing illegal and unethical activities. A very good effort indeed. more

I refer to Sri Surrender Singal's point. It is indeed a very important one - real estate being the worst offender of Consumer Rights. Most common points are not keeping to the original time schedule, providing substandard fittings and fixtures, below the standard construction, not obtaining the required permissions etc. Some times they don't even have clear title to the land. But they are a very powerful lobby and politically very well connected.
This is only one class of offenders.
Most consumer goods manufacturers do not extend the guarantee all the components e.g. plastic components of the equipments as in white goods, mobiles and many such other equipments.
I totally agree that a common platform is required for this. more  
A common platform is needed for the reputed brands will definitely make the company fear of sales decline. It is an excellent idea more
