Will fortification lead to increased prices for consumer

In attached I see 2 products, both milk powders by nestle and 1 kg in size.

The regular one called everyday sells for MRP 413 while the fortified one sells from MRP 790, almost double.

I want to know from FSSAI, will fortification lead to near doubling of prices for consumers and is it really worth the benefit or is it just gain of multinationals??

Do answer. more

If Nestle wants to sell MilkPowder, sell it dont sell vitamins and minerals with it. We have better vendors for that. Nestle sud stick to its milk business and not enter Nutraceuticals. more
If presently there are no system or mechanism in existence to overlook on pricing any product after inclusion of all costs + labour+ margin of profit, such a mechanism is urgently needed to ensure that the interests of the consumers are protected and no manufacturers price their products unreasonably. After all, no one can be allowed to earn 100% or more profit on their products. more
If we are going to fix price for every thing, then why not fix fee charges of Lawers, Doctors, CAs etc. more
The ministry of consumer affairs should invoke Essential commodities ACT for pricing of FORTIFIED FOODS more
Fixation of price of any product is mostly market driven and I feel FSSAI may not be having much to do with pricing. more
