Many Indians consider FSSAI a failed organisation because food companies routinely sell lower-quality, heavily processed, additive-rich products in India, while providing cleaner versions abroad. The core issues are weak enforcement, low penalties, few inspectors, industry lobbying, slow policy implementation, and poor transparency. Reform is possible, but FSSAI needs more power, more staff, stricter rules, mandatory global-quality standards, and clear consumer warning labels. Until then, citizens will continue seeing it as ineffective and unable to protect public health. more
yes, it is true as the values , morals and ethics are detereorating everyday in public life which reflects on the functioning of the organisations. Education,Health,Agriculture,Business,Judiciary etc.sectors have all gone beyond the reach of the common man .Reforms ,Reforms,Reforms in all the sectors from Grassroot levels are the imminent need of the hour in the country. As Mahatma Gandhiji said India lives in villages and Administration should reach the doorsteps of the common man to fulfill the results of Freedom struggle. more

Hi Ms. G.M., You’ve hit the nail right on the head regarding FSSAI. As mentioned by earlier L.C. members, most agencies today seem to have become mere rubber stamps, functioning only to please the whims and fancies of the ruling government. Many appear more eager to enjoy power than to shoulder the responsibility that comes with it. A few timeless reminders from great thinkers: “Responsibility walks hand in hand with capacity and power.” “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” “Power often blinds the eyes, turning them away from responsibility.” more
I think at present every single government institution is a failed organisation,as this is now property of some politicians and specific party.Public is under their feet,so no sense of thinking for poor people m more
