Who said inflation is down?

Though the overall price trend is declining, for many items of daily consumption, especially food, it has risen.

To my knowledge price of food items did not decrease but it only increased. The main reason being that most required steps to control inflation has not been taken. The middlemen in food grains are flourishing as ever. Circulation of black money which another cause has not been controlled. There is too much money(black) chasing too few goods. So long as these persists you can never have control on inflation. Forget the price index, the common man who pays for his basic needs knows how much he is paying provided he is not a generator of black money. more
Inflation index is the price movement of number of pre-determined items taken on their weight which is based on its consumption. Inflation is worked out for different segment of prices like consumer, wholesale & food etc. It is wrong to say the prices are increasing if the inflation index is declining. We feel the prices are increasing if few of the items increase without considering the reduction in the prices of other items. The inflation index shows decline if the prices of majority weighted items decline though there may be increase in some other items. All inflation indexes are declining since few months including retail & food. These indexes are barometer of the price movement worked out scientifically without manual intervention & least prone to mistakes. more
Inflation is getting controlled since last 7 months as you are well aware please . Inflation is different items and the Food % consumable which is the need of the hour to address the general public is concentrated now . Perhaps, this my be correct. more
If prices of vegetables decrease the prices of spices, dal increases. Inflation is a thing which is always going to increase more
