When someone on road hits you
Can someone please explain to me that if my car is hit by another vehicle (insured and uninsured), how is determination done who is at fault and in case the other part is at fault, shouldn't it be their insurance that covers my vehicle for damages. more

Determination takes place in court upon basis of evidence. Insurance company is liable to pay. more

In India it does not work this way. Both can go and get repairs done through their respective Insurance companies and both will lose their NCB (no claim bonus). Last time when I called the police they asked ''Is anyone hurt". When I replied in the negative they said why are you calling us. more

What a joke.. If anyone hit your car & The car got a small scratch on it make the whole road block and hit each other, brcoz a car is more precious than a human life. more

Usually in case of accident, the vehicle needs to stop on the spot. Don't let the other rogue driver to move his vehicle even an inch and call the police. This would ensure them to ascertain who is at fault. Insurance - 3rd party (which mostly all insurance companies cover) would ensure that you claim the damages from the errant driver's insurance company. It is a longer process hence people use their own insurance company's claim to get their vehicle repaired and when the errant driver is convicted, the copy attached is to be submitted to the insurance company and they would get the claim. more
