WHAT A FORESIGHT FROM FSSAI :ANYONE WILL GO OUT OF THE WAY TO APPRECIATE .

We have been discussing the labeling for the food products produced in posh and big Factories . Now this move to shift the focus into the LOCALLY MANUFACTURED SNACKS IS PRAISE WORTHY . All along the Scanner was only on the Snacks consumed by the posh segment . We have to be happy that it is shifting to the manufacturers and traders who supply to the poor section of the Society .

What I liked best for the reasoning of bringing in the new Practice is to make the shop keepers aware of the FIRST IN FIRST OUT POLICY . We have seen several petty shop owners just fill up what arrives last in the bottle leaving the old ones to get decayed or stale . So at some point of time some consumers will get the brunt of consuming the oldest and falling sick with food poisoning .

Many of us would have also seen in Super Markets , personnel are assigned to arrange the products according to the date of Manufacture , so the early produced is consumed first .

May be the next move will be to declare the Nutritive Values in the produce .

We have to be happy to note that the Poorer segment will also have protection of food supplied / sold to them .

ADD LIFE TO YEARS . more

Yes, you are correct and FSSAI has a vigilant role to play instead of advisory. more
yes it should be in a way that consumers can understand the same very easily and in that way irrespective of the qty if one puts price per kg to compare will be ideal. more
