Very well explained Saumya Mittal. My compliments on your detailed explanations on the myths, associated with Hypertension.
WHO this year, on 7th April,2013, had observed World Health Day on High Blood Pressure because almost 1 in 3 adults world over suffer from Hypertension. The message given was to TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE -YOURSELF !!
The advisory issued says -
1. Get Your Blood pressure checked regularly ( or check yourself) - Take prescribed Medicines regularly. Do not miss your medicines, if you are Hypertensive.
2. Limit the intake of Salt to less than 5mg per day - which is equal 1 teaspoonful.
3. Maintain a healthy weight.
4. Do 30 minutes of physical activity every day.
5. Avoid the use of tobacco.
6. Limit your Alcohol intake.
7. Manage stress positively.
8. Eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day.
9. Diabetes and Blood pressure often go hand in hand.
10. GET YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKED TODAY. YOU MUST KNOW YOUR NUMBERS.

If you have BP Appratus in your house it is very easy to take the blood pressure. I do it twice in a day. If it suits you once in three days it is also right. But then put all the readings on Excel in ur PC, you can analyse it urself with out going to a Doctor. more  
Taking blood pressure daily is going too far . Have morning walk daily -take bp reading every 3 rd day . It works. more  
I do not agree with with the concept of Blood Pressure going together with the Diabetes. These are totally two diffrent fields. Yes I agree with taking blood pressure daily and note it down in a dairy. more
