Vark on Sweets

The Tirupati Laddu controversy is new … but silver and gold leaf (vark) has been hammered in cow and buffalo intestines for centuries …… and eaten after being placed on mithais and laddus .. the FSSAI banned this in 2016 .. but many still make it in the old way and all eat it … more

Framing rules and regulations alone is not enough to ensure the interests of the consumers unless these are regularly followed up to ensure their meticulous compliance. Probably FSSAI rarely do it and majority of the manufacturers simply paste labels carrying FSSAI's name on their products without complying with the stipulations. more
When God himself has no objection, why is Chandubhai Naidu creating a big furore. Could it not be possible that he got some Laddu's made and gave the same to FSSAI to test and frame the previous regime? Instead of witch hunting should he not concentrate on development of the State now that he got the chance...but No....he would use his power for vindictive witch hunt. May be his days are numbered. more
While the subject of discussion is use of silver foils with Indian sweets, the topic of discussion in the above post is in respect of Tirupati Laddu. It appears to be politically motivated. Controversy about Tirupati Laddu is already subject of investigation, it would be better to wait for the result more
Greed is an inherent quality with Indians. When it is greed even God shall not be spared. Hindu religion talks so much on pure conscience and giving up on vices but Indians continue to show these traits over ages. One sees so much of these in politics, in corporates, in Institutions, in Organisations and probably no body is spared of this ill. more
The issue under discussion is a negative event and I can only criticize. I have appreciated Indians where it is due. I also realise every society has its positives and negatives. Some small countries in the world may have questionable behaviors. But India is a progressive country, one of the foremost in the world and we should have less vices. What I said is true and I stand by my statement and it is so widespread that it affect lot of people in our country. I am concerned with our society. I do not care about behavior of other countrymen when it does not concern me. more
Sir, we underestimate ourselves - the Indians too much and don't leave any chance to show the Indians in poor light but its more of human being and its nature, which is rampant all over the world not with Indians only. I do witness such behaviours outside India as well as fortunately I travel frequently and stay outside Bharat for much longer periods. How nice it could be if we can harp more on the positives within us rather than focussing on the negatives, which are plenty? more
Hindus are not alone who are greedy but it is humen weakness, present in all other religions. However, among the Hindus there are many sadus and sants who are far away from materialist greed, more than in other religion. more
There is no dearth of Funds with TTD or State Govt.to establish an Inhouse Worldclass Food Testing Laboratory in Tirupathi with all Laboratory accreditations. There is a lack of Political and Administrative will to establish and improve the Standards since decades. more
Politicians or Admistrators are happy in what ever positions thay are in management of Tirupati Temple and can't think out of box to improve the temple services. more
Regulatory authorities are there to toe the master's line and serve them and become slaves of non-biological creatures in order to become Viswaguru to lead India to Kalki Kaal from Amrit Kaal more
