Vagaries of CIBIL report
Two months back i tried for personal loan and although my salary is getting tax deducted at source, it seems the report generated by CIBIL goes with what a particular bank data says. If CIBIL is what all the banks / lenders go for before deciding on whether a person is eligible for loan or no loan then how come these data bases are not updated according to what we pay as tax to Govt.?
In banking sector CIBIL report is considered as the last word or a last deciding factor before a person is declared as a good or bad .... how embarrassing it might sound when some person calls in to tell you that your loan application is rejected because your CIBIL report is bad.
7 weeks back my CIBIL was 824 and yet i was not given a personal loan of just 3 Lacs. It was embarrassing and i found it very intriguing as never once i had defaulted in home loan repayment, never defaulted in credit card payment and how come i am getting a rejection from a lender?
It was based on CIBIL report they said. I was curious to know why or how my CIBIL score although being 824 cannot give me a paltry 3 lacs ?
Today i paid for a detailed CIBIL report and then i realised why!
> The data shown in CIBIL personal account page is 4 years old,
> shown with old annual salary,
> my permanent address shown as my old office address,
> my flat in a different city (which i bought 3 years back) is shown as mailing address.
> my old office email address being shown as primary email
These comes with even a hilarious tagline - my latest information as per my bank.
Now when i tried raising a dispute with them to correct my present annual package (a red underlined information popped up ... please get in touch with so and so bank with regard to my claim) ... The bank account they mentioned is my SB a/c and not my salary a/c although my home loan is linked to my salary a/c .... so by default they should know my current salary?
Outdated information .. wrong details and yet CIBIL becomes the LAST WORD in money business!
Thank God.. they still maintained that my gender is male or else i would be ruined!!!!!

The dispute i raised with CIBIL of why my salary is shown as four year old and yet given out to lenders as latest " please contact with " ..bank and ... card" for further clarification... If this site has nothing to do with our details / latest updates then why do bank refer to this site? Why can't banks have their own software to run and cross check all that has been mentioned in loan application form? Why even after taking form 16 and salary slips, the bank require a third party like CIBIL to give a thumbs up or down to an applicant? Can't the bank decide whether its matching 60 : 40 ratio of salary or is it even that has to be decided by CIBIL? more

Subrata, CIBIL is a Fraud, and an agent of Banks, getting funds from banks for expenses. They rate you only according to data given by lenders and never listen to borrowers. Their report can damage reputation of a good citizen. I m not an Advocate, else I wud have filed for damages against CIBIL,..... At some PetrolPump, 10 years back, a young boy came and Chipkav me an unnecessary SBI credit card, saying there are no charges, initial or final. Before I cud use the card, I got a bill of Rs.4000 + + + initial charge !! I surrendered the card without use, without payment. The boy who gave me the card is a deemed agent of SBI and his promise of no charge is Bank's promise. Bank still shows Rs.4000+ as dues + interst and CIBIL calls me a defaulter !! When I wrote my explanation to CIBIL, they, without reading it, forwarded it to SBI. SBI never replied. So CIBIL, without writing to me, calls me a defaulter, not looking at the Taxes I pay and other 10 cards that I use. more

True sir .. i agree .. am little intrigued to see some auto loan of 8275 in 2009 (against my name) from ICICI ... One why would go for an auto loan of just 8275 .. more interesting is that this report doesn't shows whether it is closed or end date .. am investigating this and then i will think of legal action apart from of course other details which are just hanky panky wishful reports more

CIBIL report is no way connected with the address. But it should be a latest one since the system is being updated automatically updated more

Ohh Really? If it's claiming to be the last word in your monetary transaction then they should know everything about our address etc. They can generate anything and claim to be updated information. If addresses are not important then why put that column in their website? Would you agree if your address shows PMO's or for that matter anyone's ? more

What your income tax has to do with CIBIL report? The report provides your credit credibility i.e if you have taken loan / credit from various institutions, how you performed. Beside CIBIL there are other bench marks which helps banker to decide before lending money. more

There is no bench mark ... i don't agree with CIBIL and bankers as well because you guys follow a fraudulent site... if the site doesn't know the latest information a citizen is earning / staying / repaying then how could they put a blot on their life? Then why ask for pan card? To see how i look? I know why all the bankers are perturbed ... you guys are all in hands in glove.... even when ROI comes down .. unless we pay one time fee you never bring it down on your own but when there is a upward swing you don't even wait one day to revise? All banks refer to CIBIL but there is no updation and if we raise a doubt we are directed to so and so bank... why? You bankers are using CIBIL to manhandle our monetary status ... more
