Used aadhaar - now get mobile disconnected

If you are one of those who used Aadhaar for validating your identity for a mobile phone connection, please know that there is a high likelihood of disconnection. Supreme Court last month barred the use of the biometric ID by private firms, including telecom providers and hence you are in valid consumer in eyes of the telecom company. Around 50 crore mobile subscribers may have to undergo the KYC (Know Your Customer) all over again.

The Dept of Telecom must find solution to this. We waste so much of our time every month on wasteful activities that developed country residents dont have to. more

All service providers should take corrective steps. more
Is the Supreme Court verdict applicable from retrospective effect? When the KYC norms were completed in the past, the using of Aadhar and the biometrics of the consumers was legal. It is unlikely that because of the latest verdict of the court, the formalities completed in earlier periods will become null & void. Even if happens, the respective service providers will send you their requests to to complete the formalities a fresh. Then what & where is the problem? You better to refrain from posting such unwarranted posts to create panic among the members. Such posts are also wasting our time. more
I suggest you better write to THE Minister of Telicommunication, New Delhi. more
That discussion with Government is going on-and they will give what records and when [time period]No body gets disconnected-at least the mobile companies would not lose their business. more
