Urgent Remedy for Bad Throat

Dear all:

In Bonn, Germany and just woke up with a really bad throat. Have a panel to speak at 4 pm. Any ideas for what can be done so I can retain my voice. Do not have access to any Indian medicines or herbs/spices.

Thanks in advance! more

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated. Got some temporary relief with the combination of teas, lots of honey, salt water gargles and had a good session. Now on the way back tomorrow. Hoping coming back to Delhi will fix it. Will catch up with you Mr. Ratti, one of these days. more
Wow, that rings many bells in my ears, Sachin!.........Bonn is my university town where I did Masters in Physics and carry with me the fondest memories of the then Capital City of "West" Germany. I'm talking of the early-mid-sixties! Hope you are able to enjoy the beauty of that Hauptdorf!.....Do not miss a boat ride on the Rhine river or a rope-train up to the mountain top in Koenigswinter.....The famous musician Beethoven's birthplace, situated in down town, is a museum today and his statue adorns the market place (Rathausplatz). As regards your throat, Sachin, the best would be either to consult a "local" neighbour or a nearby pharmacy (Apotheke in German); they should be able to give you a liquid comparable to Betadine in India. Gargle with that in lukewarm water and thereafter lubricate the throat with honey, take a nap and wake up with a lion's roar...........Best of luck, my dear! Do contact me when you return to Delhi.........81 3026 0511 (mobile). more
