UNSAFE FOOD PRODUCTS/PACKED FOOD

Dear All, in past few months lot of controversy started about Maggie and now pasta.

What ever initiative taken by the state food testing laboratory is very god, atleast people must be educated, about what are they eating and what not or what needs to be checked.

I would like to add few more important issues in this direction with some critical observation in the entire process:
SIMILARLY ALL SO CALLED PERMITED FOOD COLORS IN INDIA ARE ALSO CONTAINS HEAVY METALS, e.g; the METANIL YELLOW, AND OTHER FOOD COLORS PREPARED FROM COLTAR.

EVEN THE PRESERVATIVES AND WHO SO EVER IS PRINTING THE NUTRITIONAL VALUES ON EACH FOOD PACK, WHO ISSUES IT WHAT WAS THE DATE OF SUCH CERTIFICATES. EVEN THE ALUMINUM FOIL PACKATES OR THE FOILS ARE ALSO VERY SERIOUS THREAT FOR HUMAN HEALTH. THE TOXICITY OF HOUSEHOLD USE ALUMINUM COOK WARE AND THE INDIAN STYLE OF COOKING IN THE ALUMINUM PRESSURE COOKERS , WE ADD DIRECTLY THE SALT, ADD LIME JUICE ( IN SOME PREPARATION), THE ACIDITY, TOMATOES INSTANTLY REACT WITH THE ALUMINUM SURFACE AND IT LITCH OUT INTO THE FOOD PREPARATION. THAT PPM LEVEL OF ALUMINUM ALSO DAMAGES THE BRAIN CELLS IN THE LONG RUN.

It is not only LEAD but such metal like ALUMINUM is equally harmful.

Do e know or ever discussed such issues even the FSSAI

have our fssai ever published any such information in the interest of the citizens?

Regarding TOXICITY OF ALUMINUM there was detail report published in the american journals
aluminum and salt are reacting instantly under mist conditions, that is why whenever store salt in aluminum containers not even the achar, nibu etc.Maggie might be eaten by a small population in our country but alumnum cookware like cooker is used daily, so which is more harmful, should we not discuss this as well?

I have written article in our local news paper several years back on ALUMINUM.

This is just a food for thought and creating further awareness, not in favour or against any body or brands. more

Amitava Sur,Yes Aluminum is a good conductor, as a result gets heated fast and cool down fast.So it has found it's place in our day to day life as we;;as it has very wide industrial application. but due to it's negative effects on human health, Brain, THERE ARE NOW STAIN LESS STEEL PRESSURE COOKERS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET WITH COPPER BOTTOM. BECAUSE STAINLESS STEEL IS A BAD CONDUCTOR AND UNEVEN TRANSMITTING HEAT, THE COPPER IS A GOOD CONDUCTOR. The main issue is with INDIAN STYLE OF COOKING AND ALSO with the water that is used for cooking, having high DISSOLVE SOLIDS, WHICH VARIES AS PER THE SEASON IN RIVERS OR GROUND WATER, THE POTABLE WATER''S HARDNESS-TDS LIMISTS ARE ALSO WIDE, AS A RESULT THOSE DISSOLVE SOLIDS ALSO DEPOSITS N THE SURFACE OF THE COOK WARES IF NOT CLEANED PROPERLY. INDIAN STYLE OF COOKING HABITS LARGELY IS TO ADD ALL MASALAS DIRECTLY INTO THE ITEM THAT WE COOK, ADDING SALT, WATER TOMATOES ETC. IN THE PRESSURE COOKER THAT SALT AND ACIDITY ARE ARCH ENEMY OF ALUMINUM METAL REACTS INSTANTLY WITH ALUMINUM AND THAT ALUMINUM METAL SALTS LITCH OUT INTO THE FOOD WHICH IS HARMFUL. NO WHERE IN THE WORLD PARTICULARLY THE EUROPEAN OR US COUNTRIES MASALAS ARE ADDED DIRECTLY TO THE COOKING, IT IS ADDED AFTER WORDS AS PER THE NEED. This is just for the understanding of all explained. Sir, the glass cook wears how many of us can afford. the microwave ovens( regarding it also lot of controversies on it's use, are there world over). so the best is to avoid it and use the scientific ways of cooking. if somebody is interested I can share the scientific data on how much aluminum can itch out in water if we simply boil it with some acids-salts and without it more  
Couldnt understand one thing in India regarding the safety and security to Citizens by the government (either State or Central) not at all considered and sending posts in such websites. Because of their personal benefits of politicians and government officials, such violated things are happening till date and we are the victimized. more  
sir Govt should check road side rekadiwala food(SAMOSHA/ KACHORI/ PETISHAND BHAJIYA) and inform public regarding what type of oil and other things mix . Which is very harmful to our health. more  
The pressure cookers are made of Aluminum alloy. Many cooking utensils are made of aluminum and their alloys. They are good conductors of heat and help better cooking. Other options are stainless steel (containing Chromium and Nickel as alloying elements), Iron and copper ( was used decades ago and abandoned). Micowave cooking done using borosil glass wares or Micro wave safe plastic wares. It will be useful to educate the masses with the safe options for cooking and storing, and also implement as a norm for implementation by industry and regulating authorities. more  
Aluminium pots are no to use for food processing either in industries or at home , its very harmful to health . Aluminium metal direct act on brain and effect is loss of memory , shivering of fingers happen . more
