Small traders and whose turn over is less than 20 lakh and composite dealers sell goods at MRP, but do not pay the required GST collected, to the government as they are exempted from the same. So the GST which is included in the MRP is usurped by the traders. Composite dealers pay only 1% of their turnover as tax not the full GST collected by way of selling at MRP. Will the authorities look into this? more
Govt overlook all these things to make scope of politics remain. and see why 20L cap should be there....Policy should be --- do anything profit motive Give tax to Govt. GST should be imposed on those who are overpricing Tomato and onion too. State Govt/Central Govt also should be uploading return as to what they are doing with their Stocks every week. Onion are sprouting in the godowns of MP. Govt is to make law not storing onions/tomato. more
I don't think you understand the concept of GST and MRP. When a trader (big or small, registered or unregistered) sells goods at MRP, GST is included in the MRP and trader has to pay it to the company (or higher stage dealer) from whom he buys the goods. So he doesn't get to keep it. In receipts/bills/invoices issued to customers he only needs to show the items as GST paid with amount. more
For unpackaged goods, the only way for a consumer to know is to look around at various shops, compare quality and price. Hopefully efficient markets will provide a realistic assessment of the price. But, in most such cases (grains, vegetables, fruits etc.), there is no GST involved. more
Agreed but in case of unpackaged stuff like kirana goods and dry fruits, where MRP is not displayed , how can customer know what the actual MRP is ? more
As regards the composite dealer , he does not get credit for the GST paid by him and so it is OK for him to charge 1%It is for the public to avoid purchase from unregistered Dealer to make GST a sucesses more
Dear sir, All the purchases of Composite and Unregistered dealers are GST paid and they cannot take any credit of input also. As such Govt has taken there due share from them more
